Dr. Gina Wilson Beckles

 

Dr. Gina Wilson Beckles is an Assistant Professor in the School of Business at Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, FL.  Her areas of instruction include Business Research Methods, Management and Organizational Behavior, Problems of Supervision, etc.  Her research focuses on disparities in funding received by Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). 

Dr. Beckles is also president and CEO of Program Evaluation Services, Inc., a grants and government contracting firm that specializes in conducting independent program evaluations for federally funded grants.  She also provides training to small businesses in the Department of Defense Mentor-Protégé Program.  

She has over 20 years of experience working with grants and 10 years of experience working with federal government contracts.  In June of 2011, she launched her first book, entitled Grants! Grants! Grants! Everything You Need to Know About Grants Her second book Navigating the Federal Procurement Processis expectedto be release in mid 2013.
 

Dr. Beckles earned her Ph.D. and MBA at University of Central Florida, and her BS at Florida A&M UniversitySome of her previous positions include working as a Grants Accountant at Brevard Community College and as a Budget Analyst for the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Miami Branch.  She has evaluated grants from various organizations including Health and Human Services, the National Institution of Health, and the National Science Foundation.  Furthermore, she has also evaluated grants and programs from various colleges and universities, including large multi-organizational and state-wide grants. 

A lifetime resident of Titusville, Florida, she is married and has two sons.
